the DC record fair was today (read: i will be eating toast for the next two weeks). here’s what i took home:
The Best of John Fahey 1959-1977
The Replacements - Hootenanny
John Lee Hooker - Black Snake (double LP!)
The English Beat - I Just Can’t Stop It
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (if you don’t like this record, please unfollow me)
Elvis Costello - This Years Model
Talking Heads - True Stories
The Clash - Give ‘Em Enough Rope
Metallica - Kill ‘Em All (Megaforce Records press)
The Promise of Bruce Springsteen (paperback)-
while i don’t want to talk about how much money i spent, i do want to talk about how fun & well organized the event was, and many great vendors there were (almost to an overwhelming degree), and how nice it was to shoot the shit with so many people about so many different kinds of music. i’m thankful i share that bond with so many strangers. can’t wait for next year.
I woke up in a cold sweat last night, haunted by nightmares of not buying that Jawbreaker “Unfun” 1st pressing.
